The Feeling of Heaven

Going to Heaven was the most beautiful experience I could ever imagine. The day I went to Heaven was a Sunday morning on the third of July in 2016. I was living in Austin, Texas and had a tiny apartment with my boyfriend in Clarksville. I came back early that morning to the apartment having given my life to Jesus the night before, only to walk into the kitchen and have a conversation with God. I asked God, “What’s the difference between atheists and Christians?” God told me in my heart that it was. “Trust.”

I will never forget how I then walked out to the parking lot full of the peace, love and joy of Jesus only to encounter a car about to hit me. Knowing in my heart that it was “my time”, I was filled with feelings of immense peace, love, and joy as I entered into a dimension of pure, white Light. I saw my soul leave my body and go towards Heaven. I saw cords of Light that connected all humanity. I saw Jesus tell me about the love of The Father. Yet, what was perhaps more amazing than all of the things I saw, was the way I felt.

The peace, love, and joy I felt was the gift for simply believing in God. As I was going up to Heaven, I was filled with so much love and ecstasy that I was afraid I was about to explode. “What would happen when I actually got there?” I thought. Then, I told God I wanted to share my story. In one second, I found myself among the clouds and blue skies, then was immediately sent back to Earth. My soul was plunged down into my body as I stood with all of the love, joy and peace of Heaven within me.

As I stood there feet on the ground, I knew that all good feelings come from God and whatever is not from God is based in fear. Fear, after all, is the opposite of love, and so is the opposite or absence of feeling. God taught me there when I landed about how emotions like anger are stored in our spirits, but our souls are created of pure love and come from God. “Negative emotions” which come from fear often feel so terrible because they have no basis in Truth. Love is, therefore, the ultimate reality and the only reality.

Heaven, then, is not so much a place, but a feeling of love and a state of being with God completely. Yet, despite every wonderful feeling of Heaven, one of the things I loved the most was God’s gentleness. God spoke to me softly when I met Him and the angels certainly never yelled or raised their voices. To God and the angels, my feelings were special and to be treated with care. In the way they spoke, I felt loved like a valuable piece of crystal God didn’t want to break. Our feelings, after all, are Holy Ground, and a precious gift that comes from God.

You are made for Peace, Love, and Joy
